At the age of 18, I had only been in the performing arts industry for just under two and half years and in that time, I have landed ten shows and I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Music at the Australian Institute of Music, majoring in Musical Theatre. I have been trained in both classical and contemporary singing, voice acting and coaching, stage craft and most forms of dance. As well as credits in Musical Theatre, I have also written scores for two independent short films, a feature-student film, and also two musicals, and a one act cabaret.
I think the reward of doing these parties, and this line of work, is that its not really work. It’s fun, not only for yourself, but the people you are entertaining. Its so rewarding seeing the smiles of the children, sharing a few laughs, and escaping the reality of adult-hood.
My favourite character would be Spider-Man! I always loved him; growing up, I read all the comics, the animated TV shows on Toasted TV, watched all the films! He’s so relatable because he is just a kid himself. Also, his powers are pretty awesome, too!
My best memory was working for the first time on a party. It was so surreal, so enjoyable. I got to share the laughs with children, got to play as children do, I got to escape and I got the smiles. I remember the kids yelling in surprise and clapping through absolute happiness, just seeing their icon walk through the front door, greeting them with a smile, a wave and a high-five; it would have been the coolest thing to ever happen!
I love working with a team that is supportive and shares a creative interest. Anna and Isobel are such amazing people, working for the children to make them happy and live, for some of them, absolute dreams, making them a reality. I’m glad to be able to put my name behind the company, support them, as they do the same not just for the children, but for the entertainers as well!
