I have been acting, singing and dancing since the age of four! For 13 years of my life I’ve been with Theatre Bugs, a performing arts school, and two years ago moved to SA Casting, Ann Peters and Co. Through these schools I have been involved in over 36 pantomime performances, done work with the ABC in their Behind the News program, been an extra in the film Broken Hill (starring Alexa Vega from Spy Kids!!), been in a video clip for Josh from Big Brother’s band theMessrs, walked in the Credit Union Christmas Pageants, done shows at the Fringe Festival and the Heart Foundations’ Variety Bash, been given the opportunity to audition for countless tv shows and many more rewarding experiences – which has been incredible!
I got into children’s entertainment while at Theatre Bugs as I have a bright, bubbly personality. When I heard there was an opportunity to be involved in parties with Fly By Fun, I got so excited and couldn’t wait to start entertaining!
The thing I love the most about entertaining at parties is the joy I am able to bring to the children who are at the party. It’s so rewarding watching their faces light up and hug you and want to talk to you about everything and anything. I love that I am able to take some off the stress off of parents’ shoulders by providing a service that I love to do. It’s such a fun job and so I never feel like I’m there to work, I’m always there to dance and have fun with the kids! I remember having countless fairies at my birthday parties and being in such awe of them and so the fact that I can now be in another little girl or boys memory in the way that I have memories of my party entertainers is so special to me 🙂
My favourite character right now is Princess Anna! She and I share very similar personalities and so I never find it hard to ‘become her’ as such. I’d also say the Anna costume is my favourite just because its so versatile and realistic to the outfit she actually wears in the film.
My most favourite memory from a party was when I first arrived, along with a colleague, at a Frozen Party. I was Anna and she was Elsa and as soon as we walked in the front door around 10 of the cutest little girls i’d ever seen came rushing up to us and just immediately hugged us! It was ADORABLE and just at that party in general I had so much fun! I loved working along side someone too as we were able to bounce off of each other’s energy and it meant that the children didn’t have to wait around as long for things such as face paint or a balloon because there was two of us.
The thing I love most about the Fly By Fun team is how well we all get along. We’re all in the same position – while we all have pretty outgoing personalities, we still sometimes get nervous or worry about certain aspects of the party, so being able to talk with one another and ask for advice and support each other is a really comforting thing!
